we also had a bit of accident on our way to seattle.. mountain home and oregon was snowing quite badly on the 22nd nov.. when we were at the mountain area, the roads was covered with snow.. we do not have any experience driving on this kinda roads at all.. i believe the road was covered with ice as well.. our car went out of control and skii to the right.. it turn 360 degrees to the right and hit the railings on the road causing our car to turn about 180 degrees back to the left.. while the car is turning, we could see a trunk approaching us.. luckily the driver saw what was happening and managed to change his lane in time.. all of us where fine.. our car had a few scratches on the bummer though..

this trip to seattle and vancouver brought new experiences to me..

1) the car accident

2) americans are really nice people.. there was a jam on one part of the road as many truck drivers stopped to put on snow chains on their vehicles.. while we were waiting, some came up to us to check if we are fine as they had they saw our accident earlier.. when they saw that we had difficulty controlling the car due to the strong wind (the wind kept blowing our car to the right when we wanted to go striaght), they came up to us and gave us pointers on how to control it..

3) along the way, we saw countless dead animal bodies.. some were being knock over by cars and some, i believed were frozen to death.. although i often see dead coyotes, this is the 1st time i saw some many dead squirrels etc on the road.. winter must be harsh on them..

4) canadians are very reckless in their driving.. their style is like singaporeans.. or should i say, worse then singaporeans.. they cut ur lane as soon as they see opening in ur lane.. no matter how big the gap is.. i felt so insecure beside hubby whose is driving.. americans are so much better.. they give way to you.. if there's a lot of cars at a junction, they will automatically let one car turn followed by one car going straight..

5) a canadian came up to us while we were in seattle asking us for help.. he told us that he only had canadian dollar and his car had went out of gas.. he needs US dollar and ask if we could help him.. he said: ' it's really scary' haha and that sentance somehow get stuck in our head and we started using it every now and then in the trip..

i think i am slowly enjoying my life here.. relaxed with no worries.. surrounded by friendly and nice americans, clean and dry toilets with disposable toilet seats and never run out toilet papers.. love thanksgiving day and president day.. because the sales are so GOOD.. brands are so cheap here.. now i realise brandeds in SG are really overprice.. have to think twice about purchasing them when i am back in SG.. i hope i can travel to LA next thanksgiving becos there's a gucci outlet there.. haha.. there's always things to look forward to~!
